A weird travel day, started off by the ongoing mess American Airlines calls it's "Boarding Process". Wish they would realize that there's more money to be made by keeping their planes in the air than there is in nickle/dimeing their passengers. Maybe then they would be able to 'turn' their planes in under 30 minutes instead of the hour+ they're now spending trying manage everybody squeezing as much as they can into the overhead carry-on bins. Not to mention the negative customer experience they're furthering with every chaotic flight.
There's many reasons Southwest Airlines is making money. Embracing the reality that no plane makes money on the ground is definitely one of them.
Looking out towards an American 737 after yet another chaotic boarding experience

Another flight, another dirty American airplane. Weirdly, this plane seemed relitively new, but the dust had already built up on the side of the overhead screen. Plane had a weird smell to it too.

Looking down at Downtown Dallas just after crossing 10,000 feet. Dallas Love Field is just beyond

Lake Lavon and Lake Ray Hubbard are (thankfully) both full after a couple of months of solid rain.

One of the Lake Ray Hubbard spillway gates was even open

Getting close to crossing the Mississippi River

Crossing over Lake Pontchartrain

I've always wanted to find a reason to go over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, but haven't been able to yet

Approaching the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge

Some of the barrier islands before heading into the Gulf of Mexico

Approaching Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg, Florida. Amazed how blue the water is compared to how it was off the coast of Louisanna

Pop up clouds in the afternoon heating

Closeup of the entrance to Tampa Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge

Looking towards the north side hangers of the Miami airport

A Boeing 747 Cargo Dreamlifter was parked at the end of the hanger areas.

Never seen one of these up close

Turning towards the North Terminal

Gate next door is empty
