ROAD2002 (NC) -- Wright Brothers National Monument

Site of the first airplane flight back in the day. Ideal because of it's hills and the seabreaze. But here's the thing -- it's not in Kitty Hawk, no matter what the text books say. It's Kill Devil Hills, NC. Second, when you run a plane down a hill and it stays aloft for less than a minute. . . that's called a glider. Fun place to see, but ive been lied to sooooooo many times over the years. . .

Many Many monuments to the Wright Brothers are all over the monument. . .

. . . When they got here, they had to build a camp for themselves and their plane. . .

. . .More markers along the monument -- this one for the field used for the flight. . .

. . .The field is lined with markers noting where each of the four flights landed. . .

. . . This is a view of the runway field from he top of the hill where each flight took off. . .

. . . A look towards the hill from the end of the field. . .

. . .This monument was built in the 30s, marking the start of all 4 flights. . .

. . . 30's Art Deco. . .

. . .These doors were locked, ive got no idea what was inside. . .

. . . View of Kill Devil Hills from top of the hill. . .

. . . lies, all lies. . .
