Christmastime at the Fort (Part 2)

Thanx to a rare early December ice storm, it's looking more like Christmastime at the Fort. . .

The wreath had a light layer of ice on it too, as did all the bricks above the garage doors

There's a sidewalk under here somewhere. Sleet/ice sheet was about an inch think in most places.

Bottoms of the bushes were buried

The lights made for some intriuging shadows against the ice

Up against the house, the sleet/ice drift was closer to 6 inches

Christmastime at the Fort

Got into the sprit a little early this year. . . Only 28 days to go. . .

Last year, only had the flood lights, multi color strings, and a few red lights leading up to Mr. Peabody. Everything else is new for the 2013 season.

Several thousand LEDs seem to give the front yard a nice warm glow on a cold night

Really happy with how the front tree turned out, but didn't have enough warm white strings to finish it out. That'll be next year's addition to the display.

Wreath over the garage is new for this year as well

As is the 18 foot of garland and white lights around the front door. Also changed out the multi color string from the door wreath to match.

Caddo Parish Courthouse Christmas Lights

Walked back to the Robinson Film Center the night after Thanxgiving and found the Caddo Parish Courthouse all lit up in Christmas Lights

Some oversized ornaments in the oak trees lit up with Christmas lights

The front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse lit up with lights and fake Reindeer. Good thing there arent any hunters in Louisanna. Oh crap

Snow Around Denton

Along with the Fort, all of Denton County was also burried in the freak snowstorm. These shots were taken when i got out to explore.

University of North Texas was burried. . .

. . .somebody has a sense of humor. . .

. . .Old Denton County Courthouse. dusted with the snow . .

. . .streets were slick, but not really icy since the concrete didnt have time to cool. . .

. . . snow covered railroad tracks in rural Denton County. . .

. . . still more snow. . .

. . .Denton County countryside was covered in snow blanketed trees and fences and ponds. . .

. . . the Greenbelt Corridor Park on Lake Ray Roberts was peacefully covered. . .

. . .as well as the Lake Ray Roberts Damn.
