The St. Louis Arch was intended to memorialize the Louisana Purchase and the expansion of the country. A museum has been built underneith.

ROAD2002 (IL) -- Two Story Outhouse

A Two Story Outhouse. . . it is what it is. Oh, and it's in a memorial park for a past town mayor and outhouse promoter -- Gene Goodwin. Oh and it's got a big American Flag behind it to celebrate the invention. Wow.






ROAD2002 (IL) -- Lincoln Douglas Debate Monument

Another luck find on the roadtrip, Charleston, Illinois has built a monument to the Lincoln Douglas Debates.
